Silent World of Reckoning

A poem warning of the world getting its revenge

Immaculate rhythms entrenched in the bliss of the warnings of our nature

Bold and pronounced is their tone

Strong yet defenseless the armor is cracking, she will not leave us alone

Wandering aimlessly around the crackling embers, I am falling unaware

Never saw the precipice around me as if I was never there

A scene, a vast array, a castle in the mist

Blank stares and sleeping children, their slumber faintly kissed

A shroud, a clouded windowpane a story to be told

Why have I woken up the forest, billions of years old

We are a microorganism that has grown out of control

The earth is sick of all the carnage the future is written on a scroll

Although some have good intentions, the wound’s expanse runs deep

Profound and prevailing winds somewhere the solace creeps

The fortune of the past has come again to say

That today tomorrow’s children must quickly run away

Run from all the hatred, greed and slaughter, you have mere moments left

She has come to take the land back that you stole and raped and kept

You kept it for yourself believing it was yours

What do you own? Nothing

Just narcissistic sores

Run toward the light within you, see the gentle side

Now is the time to love young man, dammit, swallow your pride

Love one another you ignorant fool, as they all have said before.

Although she wasn’t quite this angry and ready to settle the score

I am a vast expanse. I have no subtlety.

She is coming and so you better go, get ready for the reckoning I see.
