STRANGERS

You live in a villa.
I live in a slum somewhere in Douala.
That doesnt make me less human.
You attend the best schools.
I only attend subsidized gov't schools.
That doesnt make me less human.
You wear in vogue clothes with sweet fraganted perfumes.
I only wear my best at Christmas & 'boxing day'.
That doesnt make me less human.
You speak good refined clean English...
My tongue is stoke to quarter 'mboko'
That doesnt make me less human.
You ride in porch & Prado.
My feet are swollen from walking..
That doesnt make me less human..
You drink milk for breakfast & your palms are soft.
I beg for daily bread in my morning prayers which I end up often not having.
That doesnt make me less human.
You stand before me as a teacher.
I humbly sit listening to you as a student...
That doesnt make me less human..
You're a celebrity
& we decided to be your fans.
That doesnt make us less human.

On this journey,
We're all strangers.
We all BELONG.
A day shall come.
We shall all end naked in the afterworld awaiting our fate.
We 'r all humans!
