How To Get Over A Weight Loss Plateau

Being stuck at the same weight for several weeks can be very discouraging. I have been stuck at the same weight for several weeks, that is not a plateau this is my new self. And it sucks.

Weight loss plateaus are a part of the weight loss process. In this article, I will explain what a plateau is, how long it last and why they happen. Then I will give you some tips on how to get over your weight loss plateau.

A weight-loss plateau is a point at which your current rate of weight loss slows or stops and does not pick up again.

This can be very frustrating, as many people find that they’re doing everything right and still not losing any further weight.

While no one has found the magic bullet for rapid fat loss, there are some things you can do to combat the weight loss plateau, so keep reading!

Weight loss plateaus can last for 4–8 weeks.

The important thing to note is that the length of your weight loss plateau is not related to how long it will take to lose the weight you need to.

Think of your weight loss plateau as a temporary stop, not an ending point.

A lot of different things can cause a weight loss plateau. Here are some of the most common:

- You are losing muscle instead of fat

- Your body is adjusting to your new activity levels

- Your metabolism has slowed down

- You have started eating too few calories for your current activity level. This could be because you are not exercising enough, or maybe you have increased your exercise but taken in the same number of calories.

· Do cardio 30 mins 4–5 days a week.

· Try interval training, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is a more effective way to burn fat and keep it off long term.

· Try doing some resistance training or weight lifting either on your off days from running or at the end of your workout.

· If you are going to eat something unhealthy get back on the diet wagon ASAP!

Don’t get discouraged, there’s always tomorrow… Right?

Being stuck at the same weight for several weeks can be very discouraging. I have been stuck at 165 lbs. for about 12 years now. I was eating healthy and exercising but the weight wouldn’t budge. Then I found these tips to help me finally start moving up again:

· Instead of working out at home like I normally do, change it up and try a workout class. There is something about being around other people that makes you want to give more effort to your workout.

· Eat smaller meals more frequently throughout the day. You will be surprised how much this can speed up your metabolism and help you burn fat.

· Cut out common diet mistakes such as drinking juices, sodas and even alcohol if possible… They will slow your progress tremendously!!

Don’t let a weight loss plateau get you down!

There are always things you can do to help move forward and stay on track.

Always remember: Hard work pays off, but pushing yourself harder than ever before is the only way to break through to your ultimate potential.
