Fashion on a College Budget

As most college students know, money doesn’t come easy and seems to vanish quickly into each semester. That’s one thing we can agree on… and for me, the term “champagne taste on a beer budget” has never been so relevant. Especially when it comes to clothes.

It was easy in high school to keep up with all the trends when my friends and I would go shopping with the allowance from our parents. However, quickly into my first semester of college, I realized that money had to go from wants to needs. Instead of that top or dress on my wish list, it would go towards a loaf of bread or textbooks; but that’s the life of a college student.

Three years later, I’ve learned how to manage my finances (kind of) and know what’s worth my money to buy.

Seasonal sales, Forever 21, and Pinterest have become my best friends. And hopefully after reading this, they’ll become yours, too.

Of course with a cheaper price, sometimes comes a downgrade in quality of clothing, but that’s why it’s important to realize the difference in trends and classic items. Trends only stay in for a short period of time; therefore, you don’t need to buy the best quality.

Follow these easy steps, and in no time you’ll be able to keep up with fashion on a college budget.
