Taris

(Jean Vigo, 1931)

Son pocos los documentales deportivos que he visto. No es un tema que me interese mucho, pero debo admitir que Jean Vigo logró mantener mi atención y darle algo de vida a este pequeño cortometraje sobre el nadador Jean Taris.

Veo este corto más como una oportunidad de experimentación para Vigo, usando técnicas como la reversa, cámara lenta, entre otras. Lo que me pareció más admirable fue que logró muy buenas grabaciones subacuáticas, ya que me imagino que no ha de haber sido fácil gravar a través de un vidrio grueso.

En general, pienso que es un buen esfuerzo de Vigo. Aunque no haya sido mi favorito de su filmografía, puedo llegar a apreciarlo por su innovación e influencia en el cine.
