Why Do We Need Nations?

At a time when nations are at bloody war, it’s appropriate to ask why we have separate nations at all. Each of us is just an individual human animal with no inherent national identity. It’s when we…

Stop the Violence

Violence against woman

The changing world along with new inventions and discoveries has yet changed the tradition and cultures embedded upon the people of a country. The outer cover of book can change but will still be same. The people value their culture as their indentity. Some customs and traditions and that have been to us by our ancestors are not acceptable. But yet such practices proceed on. Even though we know that are bad tradition, we don’t venture to remove the curtain of darkness from our society is still a patriotic.

Many women have come up as compassed to past. It is also true that even many men have helped us in our struggle for identity. We have achieved something legally too. Educated women are now able to claim their rights. But, what about those women who are illiterate and living in the rural areas? Do they even know their rights and freedom? Certainly not. Their feet are chained with the iron bars of social discrimination. A daughter is a matter of grief for the entire family?

A woman is blamed for not being able to give birth to a son. Scientifically, it has been proved that it is only mean who are responsible for what a woman gives birth; to a son or a daughter. But in our society not being able to gibe birth to a child or a son is always a woman’s fault. Daughter is a burden for every family. A woman is considered as a machine. She is punished for those mistakes which she never committed.

No one can punish us for the mistakes that we never committed. Nobody can prove us a wrong unless we really are. But still some women bear the humiliations in the name of sterility of the guilt of bearing a daughter instead of a son. So a man should learn to be respectful towards a woman and kick the worn out customs, tradition and violence to women. Let us live in the world where everyone is respected and treated equally.

“The only thing worse than being blind is having a slight but no vision.”— Helen Keller.
